Fluxus is conceptual. Fluxus is intermedial. Fluxus is humorous. Fluxus is ironic and critical of tradition and art history. But above all, Fluxus is about bringing art to life. Part of that is engaging in a shared dialogue.
Field Test #3: Fine – Knowles, a continuation of Museum Abteiberg’s in-depth work with the ANDERSCH COLLECTION/ARCHIVE, the extensive Fluxus collection assembled by Dorothee and Erik Andersch, invites visitors to enter into conversation – with us, with each other, and with the works on view. On opening day, join the curators for an exhibition talk to learn more about the extended Fluxus network and discuss the various artistic positions. > ANDERSCH COLLECTION/ARCHIVE
In addition to objects and documents by Albert M. Fine, Ken Friedman, Al Hansen, Geoffrey Hendricks, Dick Higgins, Joe Jones, Milan Knižák, Alison Knowles, and many others, Museum Abteiberg’s alphabetically-ordered survey Field Test #3: Fine – Knowles also includes works by Dorothy Iannone and Allan Kaprow, influential artists who enjoyed a close friendship with Dorothee and Erik Andersch and their personal Fluxus network.
