As part of the exhibition GRANT MOONEY sum, Dylan Kerr presents Substratum, a composition for voice and fixed electronics that draws inspiration from the Hindustani Dhrupad tradition.
Dylan Kerr (b. 1996, Ireland) is an artist and vocalist working across performance, sound, installation, moving image and composition. Their practice is deeply attuned to place, often creating works that engage with the unique resonant qualities and histories of specific environments. In their compositions, they combine process-based methods, microtonality, and extended vocal techniques to explore psychoacoustic phenomena such as interference patterns, combination tones and the interplay between the voice and space.
